So seanan_mcguire  and I have this "In Conversation" thing at Worldcon.

This is where we sit in a room for an hour and get to do or say whatever we want.

Oh, these are heady days, my friends.

But with all that freedom, how can we create order?

So what we want is for you guys to fill up The Hat.

The Hat is full of what you would like to see seanan_mcguire  and I do in a room for an hour. (Get your mind out of the gutter.)

In the comments, tell us what you'd like us to talk about, debate, attack, defend, act out, or any other performy activity. Keep it balanced so that we can both play the reindeer games--ie, no Hour Long Seanan Concert or Cat Honks On The Accordion for an Hour! (Also I'm not bringing my accordion.) Props are ok as long as they fit in a suitcase. On the actual day we'll draw suggestions and it will be wonderful and probably a little hilarious. We'll do our damnedest to film it and post it to the internet.

Hit us!

Nothing hard, just

Create an original shared universe, come up with characters who populate it, and get people to suggest a story for them.

If you like it enough, write it after the con, and start an anthology, like Wild Cards, Bordertown or Liavek.

Then get s00j to write music for it.

Then get it optioned for a TV Show

Then you all become rich and famous.

Re: Nothing hard, just

We, um, already have a secret plan in this direction. ;)

Re: Nothing hard, just

I suggest you get the guys at Evil Hat to publish the RPG after D and I beta test something using the Fate system. After you fill me in on the secret, of course.

Get two more authors and that'd be a Whose Line Is It Anyway? skit. And that would be several sorts of awesome.

I'd like to hear about guilty pleasures, or not-so-guilty pleasures, you-plural use as writing prompts.

For instance, I know Seanan drinks Diet Dr Pepper. Do you have a favorite drink while writing? Do you vary what you're drinking by story environment? Does a certain character make you think of Earl Grey tea, and you can't quite get into their head sometimes unless you've got it? Is there a magic Drink Me bottle, or Eat Me cake, that helps get you unstuck for certain plot points?

How about music? Do your characters have their own theme music?

That sort of thing :) You two doing a cooking show episode could be really cool ;)

Though I won't be there, I would like for you to flick Seanan's nose and get her to do her FIERCE face. Preferably repeatedly.

If you use this idea, I do request a YouTube link, however.

*snif* won't someone think of the poor skeinless moles? How will they weave?

I think you both should talk about Doctor Who and the shows of Joss Whedon. Perhaps you both might also mention any anthologies on those subjects that happen to contain your essays. ;-)

*whistles innocently*

The stories that each of you found most frustrating. Whether it was because they were frustrating to tell or frustrating to read/hear, just whatever caused you each the most aggravation. (Preferably fiction, but nonfiction is okay, too!)

Aren't Beyond Thunderdome references illegal in Australia?

In a recent post (http://seanan-mcguire.livejournal.com/253688.html) Seanan said that you were the Pumpkin Princess of the East and she was the Pumpkin Princess of the West. I would enjoy hearing what each Princess does with her domain and powers.

Lola

Well, since sinboy allready offered what I thought about...
Talk about the ways you write and compare the reasons and methods for your writing.

A short dramatic reading from either a page of a favourite childhood classic, or from each other's books.

Or your favourite recipes, enacted through mime!
