Watching Old Crowe Flicks

There are two lines from Almost Famous that I have always thought were transitive, applicable to authors as well as rock stars. I like to think of them from time to time, especially the latter.

Exhibit A: "It's not about money and popularity. Although, some money would be nice. But it's a voice that says, "Here I am... and fuck you if you can't understand me." And one of these people is gonna save the world. And that means that rock 'n' roll SFF can save the world... all of us together.

And the chicks are great."

Exhibit B: "I always tell the girls, never take it seriously, if you never take it seriously, you never get hurt, you never get hurt, you always have fun, and if you ever get lonely, just go to the record store book store and visit your friends."

They comfort me.

And one more, which should be on a sampler or calligraphied or something: The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you're uncool.

Snow. Nostalgic films. Coffee. My kingdom for someone uncool to share it with.
