Letters from Proxima Thule

I literally let out a shout of "AHH!" in excitement reading this first paragraph. I have been playing with retellings of Ivan and the Firebird, and am thrilled to see other people are leaning down the lines of my obsession, especially because I felt the melding of history and myth in Deathless was so spot on and the themes you've here outlined for Matroyshka seem perfect for a similar treatment.

Gah. It gives me shivers of excitement. "The Radiant Car Thy Sparrows Drew" was mesmerizing since the first moment I read it and I'm excited that I'll get to return to that world.

EEE! Giant Venusian tentacle whales!

YAY! *KERMIT FLAIL OF JOY!*

*begins trying to wait patiently....*

2014 and 2015? But I want it nooooooooooooow! And an Oompah-Loompa!

*Squeeee* and exited jumping about.

Whoot! To both -- and to your having sold SF!

Ooooooooooooh awesome! :-D

SHRIEK! WOOOHOOO! What fantastic news!

My excitement is palpable: RABBIT WANT BOOKS!

Awesome! I'm especially looking forward to Matryoshka.

Yay! I just read Deathless a few days ago and loved it, and am now one of those people who goes around recommending it to everyone.

A NOVEL BASED ON THE RADIANT CAR THY SPARROWS DREW I AM SO EXCITED I CAN'T EVEN CONTAIN IT AND HAD TO EXPRESS MYSELF IN ALLCAPS AND FAIL TO USE PROPER PUNCTUATION

I mean, I really liked Deathless, but ZOMG.

I WAS ABOUT TO POST THIS COMMENT EXACTLY OMG!!!

I am beyond excited about a novel treatment for "The Radiant Car Thy Sparrows Drew". That's seriously one of the best short stories I've ever read and I am so excited that that world is being expanded upon.

You had me at "giant Venusian tentacle whales".

I think I'll be recovered from "Deathless" by the time "Matryoshka" comes out :) Then I can read it. YIPEE!

Copy and paste is good for Russian novel titles.

Congratulations on your new babies!!!! I'm going to begin working on my decopunk outfit NOW.

N.

Yeah, I don't think that title will stay either, since people couldn't pronounce palimpsest. ;)

When I read "It is a retelling of Ivan and the Firebird set during the children’s evacuation of Leningrad." a chill went down my spine. I am really looking forward to Matryoshka, not just because I have a couple of sets and have always been fascinated by them.

Ahhhhhh so excited! Congratulations, and I cannot wait to read these.

Cannot WAIT for these! They both sound fantastic! And Ivan and the Firebird is one of my favourite fairy-tales ever - I can't wait to see your take on it! (Gender shifting wolf - YAY! :D)

I am so excited about Martyoshka I might have shrieked loud enough to scare the dog that lives in the apartment above me.
