What's With Today Today?
Today I went to look at some ducks, a strong possibility for egg-laying awesomeness come fall, and attended my local knitting circle. Also one wall in my house is now purple, and while I didn't paint it, I did bake cookies for babymonkey  after she did. I intended to come home and blog like a good postmodern grrl, but my allergies have the best of me and I feel like death. I also have two manuscripts to edit. Sibyl wants die.

So I'm gonna open up the thread again. Talk about whatever you like, ask me questions, ask each other questions, treat it as your playground.

What up, kids?

Hit me!

I find I get discouraged really easily with spinning. But everyone I know seems to do it so well!

Try these:
(The above link is about learning to predraft. I found it immensely easier to predraft than to draft on the fly while trying to control the spindle, your bunch of fiber, and clumsy hands. Then again, I suppose it depends on what form your fiber is in).

Both of these are the actual spinning and how to deal with your fiber once you've got a spindle full:

Hope the links show properly and they help!

Practice! If you're ever out here I'd be happy to try and help you. Just about everything from the spindle transfers to the wheel, except whorl ratios and things like that, but it's all about tension and twisting speed.
